I have an old futon, everyone does. It has a decent shape to it, the foam is holding up well, so I thought about transforming it with a new cover & some mix ‘n’ match pillows. There was the minor detail of my dog Chloe tearing a few holes in it previously, so ya…it was time for an update. I’m pretty happy with the results, looks new & modern, just what it needed.
My very first craft fair…so much fun! I got the great opportunity to share a table with my friend at a small craft fair that was organized at my work recently. It was right before Christmas, so people had their wallets out & I actually made some money, it was awesome! I got to showcase a whole wack of current crafty things I had ready, and spend an afternoon with a bunch on crafty ladies. Can’t wait to do it again next year :)
I made these mini pantone chip magnets recently after seeing the idea here. They turned out really great and I enjoyed the creating process as well since they came together so quickly. Although it was hard to keep the dog hair off the wet glue! Some are forever engrained with a personal Chloe touch, oops.
I used the Mod Podge dimensional magic glue on top to get the glossy, raised effect. Magic! Now its just about finding out my friend’s favourite colours so I can give them away!
I’ve been experimenting with watercolour paints lately. Its fun. Its not easy. Its addicting. More to come soon!
I made this cloud shaped pillow for a friend of mine recently. I printed the raindrops on the fabric with a handmade stamp from a potato! It was super easy & turned out pretty good for my first go. I decided on 2 different patterns for front & back to give it some more interest & used a stencil for the child’s name. Hmm…maybe a heart shaped pillow next!
Ok, so painting straight lines by hand (without painters tape!!) is not an easy task… but it paid off for this project. I love the way the colours in the chevron pattern turned out & how much more interesting the piece looks. With a good coating of Polyurethane on the top surface it all came together. Yay me!
